When a start-up is in the construction phase there are a lot of moving parts…too many. Countless times the leader of the project is making a decision a minute with very little time to document and organize all disciplines.
A project manager is a person who has the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. Construction, information technology, marketing, purchasing, and work flow of the environment – all need to be carefully acknowledged and memorialized. In a fast paced situation there needs to be a keeper of all of these schedules, designs, decisions, and force the endeavor to stay on budget and on time. The goal is to have this person avoid unforeseen delays due to oversights in the process when operational hands working on the assignment have full time responsibilities in other areas of the company.
The project manager must have a combination of skills including the capacity to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts, as well as more general management skills.
KCHC has the dedicated project management experience to guide your newest development into a living and breathing operation. What sets us apart from the others in this line of work is our restaurant/hotel industry operations experience. We have the ability to foresee how things in the developmental phase will look live. As construction unfolds we will be able to understand what the flow of the environment will be for staff and guests; advising before anything becomes an issue.
When leading a project, we act as the counselor to the hands actually doing the physical work, the muscle to the vendors in order to keep them on budget and on time, the keeper of the critical path, bright light when all parties say – thank goodness you’re here!
